I am saddened of this news as Tommy Wonder has been an absolute inspiration to my work. He has impacted upon both my stage and close up work. My penultimate stage effect is Tommys' Animated sphere effect (zombie) and I aways end my close up act with his ambitious card routine to card box. I will always remember him whenever I perform these effects. |

Tommy's technical proficiency and innovative thinking were simply unsurpassed. Many magicians were known for doing one thing better than anyone. With Tommy, most everything he touched became the definitive version.
Did anyone do the following as well as Tommy?
The Vanishing Bird Cage
The Cups and Balls
The Canary, Egg, Lemon Orange Trick
The Wild Card (Tamed Card)
The Zombie
Vanishing Watch to Nest of Boxes
The list could go on and on.
Our firmament has lost one of it's brightest stars.

The loss of a man of a stature like Tommy's makes the world poorer. I remember meeting Tommy some years ago in London and spending some pleasant hours in his company discussing magic and its artistry. I come back from this meeting enriched in my understanding of magic and life. I will never forget your kindness, your friendship, your artistry.
Rest in peace, dear friend. |
